Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to the balance, APR and payment numbers you type into this site, and what this site collects, or doesn't collect, about your visit. Short version: every calculation runs entirely in your browser, nothing you type is sent to a server, and there is no account, login or tracking cookie on this site.

What happens to the numbers you enter

The credit card interest calculator, the cash advance calculator and the minimum payment calculator all do their math entirely inside your browser, using JavaScript. Your balance, APR, payment amount, cash advance fee or target payoff date is never sent to a server, never logged, and never stored in any database on this site. There is no form anywhere on this site that transmits your calculator inputs anywhere, including numbers about a specific credit card, balance or personal finances.

This is a direct consequence of how the site is built: it is a static site with no backend that receives, processes or stores what you type. There is no infrastructure on this site's side capable of receiving those numbers, even if someone wanted to.

Theme preference and saved calculator values

The only thing this site saves on your device is your light/dark theme preference and your last entered calculator values, stored in your browser's localStorage. This does not identify you, is never sent to any server, and only exists so the page can remember your numbers on your next visit. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

The feedback button

Below each calculator there is an optional thumbs-up / thumbs-down feedback button. Clicking it sends an anonymous signal, just the vote count, no information that identifies you, no stored IP address, no tracking cookie, to this site's backend, purely so the count can be tallied. A local marker in your browser prevents you from being asked to vote again repeatedly, but that marker does not identify you personally, it only stops a second vote from the same browser.

Visit metrics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit each page and roughly where they came from, for example a Google search versus a direct link. This tool was chosen specifically because it does not use cookies and does not build an individual profile of each visitor: metrics are collected in aggregate at Cloudflare's network edge, without this site needing to load a traditional tracking script in your browser. It is not possible to identify a specific visitor, or the specific card balance or interest numbers they entered, from these metrics.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party profiling cookies. The only local storage used is the localStorage mentioned above, for theme preference and calculator values, which is technically not a cookie and is not automatically sent to any server with every request, unlike a traditional cookie.

Hosting and infrastructure

This site is hosted on Cloudflare's network, which processes the technical requests needed to deliver the page to your browser, source IP address, browser type, request time, the same way any hosting provider does. That technical infrastructure data falls under Cloudflare's own privacy policy as the network operator, and is not accessed, exported or combined by this site to identify visitors individually.

What this site does not do

To be explicit rather than vague: there is no user account system, no login, no email newsletter signup, no advertising network, no remarketing pixel, and no sale or sharing of visitor data, or the balance and interest numbers you enter, with data brokers, card issuers, or anyone else. This site does not connect to your bank, your card issuer, or any credit bureau, and it cannot see your actual accounts. The three calculators are the entire functionality of this site, and none of them require, request, or benefit from collecting personal or financial information, so none is collected.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, for example if a new feature is added that changes what data is collected, this page will be updated to describe the change. Since this site does not collect an email address or any way to contact visitors directly, there is no notification mechanism beyond this page itself, checking back here is the way to see the current version.

Who this site is for

The credit card interest calculator, the cash advance calculator and the minimum payment calculator are built for anyone trying to understand their own credit card numbers: what a balance is really costing them, what a cash advance would really cost, or how long minimum-only payments would actually take. None of the three tools require you to identify your card issuer or any account details beyond the balance and rate you choose to enter, the underlying math and privacy handling are identical across all three.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my card balance or interest rate?
No. Every number you enter stays in your browser and is used only to run the calculation on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server or saved anywhere except, optionally, your own browser's local storage so the page can remember it next time you visit.
Do you sell or share my data?
There is nothing to sell or share. This site does not collect personal or financial information in the first place, there is no database of visitor inputs to sell from.
Does this site connect to my bank or card issuer?
No. This is a standalone calculator with no connection to any bank, card issuer, credit bureau, or financial account. It only does math on the numbers you type in.
